Role
Product Designer
(UX Architecture, Terminology Design, UI Design)
Contribution
Designed user flows for core cloud storage features, including file upload, download, folder management, and file access.
Designed a memo-based collaboration feature that allowed users to leave notes and communicate around shared files.
Organized complex storage and collaboration workflows into clear, scalable UI screens for both individual and shared use cases.
Overview
Daou Cloud is a web-based cloud storage service that allows users to upload, download, organize, and share files.
Beyond basic file storage, the service supports memo-based communication, enabling users to leave notes directly around shared files and keep related context in one place.
The design focused on connecting file management and lightweight communication into a clear, practical workspace

Problem
Although the service provided essential cloud storage features, users needed a clearer way to manage files and understand communication around shared content.
File actions such as upload, download, sharing, and folder management needed to be easy to find and complete
Shared files could lose context when related notes or updates were not clearly connected
Memo-based communication needed to support collaboration without interrupting the file management flow
The interface needed to balance storage functions and communication features without becoming visually crowded
The core challenge
Turning shared file storage into a context-aware workspace where users could manage files and communicate around them with less friction.
Goal
Help users manage and discuss files in one connected workspace.
Design-wise, the goal was to make file actions easy to complete while keeping related memos and shared context clearly accessible.

UX Review & Design Considerations
Since formal user research data was not available, I reviewed the service structure, key screens, and major file-related workflows from a UX perspective.
The review focused on how users move between file management, sharing, memo writing, and checking communication history within the cloud storage environment.
The core challenge
Information hierarchy between files, folders, and memos
Visibility of key actions such as upload, download, share, and delete
Placement of memo features within shared file flows
Clarity of shared file context, updates, and user communication
Key direction
The design direction was to evolve Daou Cloud from a basic storage tool into a practical collaboration space centered around shared files.
Design Strategy
To support the direction of evolving Daou Cloud into a practical collaboration space,
I defined the design strategy around connecting file actions, shared context, and memo-based communication within the same workflow.
Design Principles
01
Structure files around user tasks
Organize files, folders, and key actions so users can move from finding a file to completing an action without unnecessary navigation.
02
Keep communication attached to context
Place memos close to shared files so users can understand notes, updates, and decisions without leaving the file management flow.
03
Prioritize clarity over feature density
Show essential actions at the right moment and keep secondary options less prominent to maintain a clean, focused workspace.
